When I lived in Sudan, I had many Ethiopian and Eritrian friends who would make delicious food and share it with me. There was also an Ethiopian restaurant that I regularly went to with friends.
On a recent trip to Madrid to visit one of those friends that I’ve stayed in touch with since we worked together in Khartoum, she mentioned how much she misses Ethiopian food. So we set off to try a local Ethiopian restaurant:

The injera was more sour than I like it to be, but the experience was like a trip down memory lane, to another time, another place, but always with good friends.
